I believe government and the economy work best when citizens get to keep more of their hard-earned money. As Supervisor, I have a proven record of fighting against higher taxes and leading the fight to reduce – and in some cases actually eliminate – taxes.
I led the fight on the Stafford Board of Supervisors to repeal the job-and-business killing Business, Professional, and Occupational Licensing (BPOL) Tax. And, I fought to eliminate the Machinery and Tools Tax. Having Stafford free from these two onerous taxes has made a positive difference: Stafford is now consistently among the highest rated localities in Virginia for business, job, and wage growth.
Curtailing the tendency of government to tax everything in sight, I led the efforts to eliminate Stafford’s taxes on boats and airplanes. As a result, our marinas and airports attract more business.
As Delegate, I will fight to cut taxes and make sure your tax dollars are only used to fund the core services of government, like public safety, schools, and roads. And when state government runs a surplus, I will make sure Richmond politicians refund money to you instead of increasing spending on their pet projects.
